K9 Training Academy Ltd is an established, registered and fully insured dog training company based between Steventon and Harwell in Oxfordshire. We offer modular, progressive dog training opportunities to owners of both pet and working dogs of all ages and abilities. Our location makes us conveniently located for dog owners in and around the Didcot, Abingdon, Wantage, Oxford and Wallingford areas and our dog training facilities include a secure large indoor soft surface area and secure outdoor grassed training areas to cater to all training scenarios and weather conditions. Our venue is more appropriate for dog and handler training than village/school halls as our training is carried out in a more realistic setting, or public parks with unpredictable external factors. Our very experienced, full-time professional dog trainers excel in various fields including, but not limited to: behavioural science, research, pet dog training, breeding, law enforcement, scent detection - government agency support. Our expertise lies in teaching owner/handler methods of dog training and the handling skills required to get the best from your dog.
Our objective is always to teach the handler and dog as a team, providing the handler with the knowledge and skills to understand their dog and the way forward to progress.
We provide training throughout life stages with many of our clients attaining the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme Gold standard before their dog reaches 18 months of age. We also assist clients on a one-to-one basis for specific needs.

Many of our clients complete all their training with us, puppy through to gold levels, and advanced to ensure they achieve a high standard of pet dog behaviour in any contexts. These courses also provide a solid foundation of control for all types of working dogs.
Training methodology involves short periods of instruction and demonstrations, with 'breakaway training', with 3-4 instructors per group to facilitate individual tuition. Our instructors are accredited to test Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme at all levels. Dogs and clients are actively engaged and connected at all times. Families are welcome as observers, children must be accompanied by an appropriate adult (not the handler). Young handlers must be 12+ years of age and accompanied by an adult.
We offer dog training in many disciplines including client's own suggestions and wishes, just contact us to discuss your needs. We offer both a one-to-one dog training and group dog training classes with experienced dog trainers. Qualified and experienced dog behaviourists are available to assess problem dogs and advise as to appropriate developmental training.
Whilst our company is fully insured for public liability, we advise that you ensure you also have insurance.
